The year 2024 marked a new record in the number of reports of child abuse cases in early childhood education settings, kindergartens, daycare centers and family nurseries. According to data from the Headquarters for the Fight for Children, between September and December 2024 alone, 2,129 inquiries were received on suspicion of violence against toddlers. Alongside the alarming data, one phenomenon stands out that made a difference: the use of covert recordings made using tiny recording devices hidden on the child. According to numerous testimonies from parents and data from non-profit organizations, this is the tool that led to the exposure of the vast majority of documented abuse cases that led to criminal proceedings.
